Dear Friends in Christ,
For some reason October always feels like a particularly busy month. I always assume it’s because Diocesan Convention takes place this month, but two days spent participating in the business of the Church doesn’t seem like it should account for so much busyness. Maybe it’s also because we kick off our stewardship appeal this month. Or because we are rapidly accelerating toward Advent and planning for the Christmas season. All these things together add up. As well as all this, this October the Saint Anna’s Vital+Thriving steering team will be attending the quarterly cohort gathering in San Francisco. Whatever the reasons, I feel very grateful Cindy and I were able to take a couple of days and get away to Carmel-on-the-Sea last week. We took our dog Toby with us and spent two delightful days doing nothing more than walking on the beach, eating, relaxing in our hotel room, and exploring the town.
I imagine that you are all very busy too, maybe for some of the same reasons, maybe for others. Whatever you find yourself busy with, I hope you will find a few minutes for Saint Anna’s stewardship appeal; to consider how you can give of your Wealth, Works, and Wisdom to support Saint Anna’s. Without your support none of the things I’ve mentioned, or the many other things our church participates in, such as helpimg Kimball Elementary School, Hope House, and the Bay Area Crisis Nursery, would be possible. Please read the emails that are sent out; listen to the presentations offered each Sunday in church (even if you can’t be present, you can find a recording of our worship every Sunday on the Saint Anna’s Facebook page) and return your pledge card promptly. I and the Bishop’s Committee appreciate everything each one of you do. You make all the busyness worthwhile.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Jane+
